NCLEX ATT window planner

Your Authorization to Test has hard start and end dates. Put them in to see how many days you have and when to book, so the window doesn't close on you.

Enter your registration date, your ATT dates, or both. No ATT yet? Validity is set by your board; the average is 90 days.

Why book early in the window

You can only schedule once you have your ATT, and you must test between its start and end dates. Popular test centers fill up, and a missed or late-cancelled appointment forfeits the fee. The planner suggests booking at least a week before the window ends so one reschedule doesn't cost you the registration.

Common questions

How long is the NCLEX ATT valid?

Each board of nursing sets the validity period; NCSBN says the average is 90 days. Your exact dates are in your ATT email, and you must test within them.

Can the ATT be extended?

No. If you do not test within the validity dates you must re-register with Pearson and pay the exam fee again.

How long does a Pearson registration stay open?

365 days while waiting for eligibility from your board. If you are not made eligible within that time, the registration and fee are forfeited.
